This year's Bliss Out retreat will run from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Our day will begin with a Yin/Slow Flow practice to release tension and promote physical, mental, and emotional balance. Next up will will enjoy a nourishing vegetarian lunch followed by a special craft project - it is always a highlight of the day to let our creativity flow freely! An extended Restorative Yoga with Reiki workshop will round out the afternoon. We will have time to sit in circle as well, a ritual of connection and appreciation woven into every Yogaway Retreats offering. All activities are all levels, and attendance is limited to 20 yogis to maintain a close-knit feeling and allow for plenty of individual assists and energy work throughout the day!
MEET YOUR TEACHERS
MEET CHECKA ANTIFONARIO: Checka is the founder of Yogaway Retreats. Ten years ago, she left the corporate world to teach yoga full-time, and hasn't looked back since. She led her first of many retreats in 2011, and knew immediately that she had found her calling. A shared adventure, a new perspective, the gifts of nature and culture, true connections on and off the mat - this is the good stuff!
Known for her open-heartedness and easy laugh, Checka (E-RYT, RCYT) is deeply committed to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive space for practice and community. Yoga is for all. She is grateful for the amazing team of loving, talented Yogaway teachers, and for each yogi who takes the leap to travel with us.
With a natural and attentive approach to teaching, Checka offers mindful and safe sequencing along with compassionate and skilled assists in her Vinyasa flow classes. She equally enjoys the quiet and healing element of more reflective, restorative yoga, and offers the loving-kindness of Reiki energy work to enrich these classes. She is passionate about being in nature and spending time with her pups, and considers herself equal parts home body and travel nut. With a deep connection to Hawaii, where her yoga journey began, Checka strives to bring her Aloha Soul approach to life with her wherever she goes! MEET SARAH WINSLOW: Sarah has a calm and gentle spirit, and a twinkle in her eye. Her inimitable classes cultivate a sense of balance and release, and she will make you smile too!
Sarah discovered yoga in 2007 and fell in love with its ability to calm her mind after a demanding day. She now works to create a safe and welcoming environment where students are comfortable exploring their physical and mental capabilities – and discovering they are capable of more than they think. Through thoughtful sequencing, Sarah’s classes focus on the combination of mindful movement and connection to breath. You’ll breathe, expand, smile, release – and leave feeling relaxed, energized and renewed.
Sarah completed her 200-hour teacher training at Back Bay Yoga under the direction of Ame Wren and Lynne Begier. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue learning from the many amazing teachers in Boston and the Northshore. Forever a student, Sarah has participated in numerous workshops and has completed her pre-natal training with Bec Conant; yin yoga training with Josh Summers; the Power of Touch mentorship with Nicole Clark; a mentorship with Julia Tirabassi; and Radiant Child Training Levels 1-3 with Checka Antifonario.
