Mantra + Sound Journey

What is mantra?

Mantra is the practice of chanting sacred sound. It has an uncanny ability to quiet the mind, reach that yet-unreachable place that wants to transform, and recalibrate you to your natural state of balance. In short: it shifts things.

Each mantra is the energy of particular divine qualities of the Universe, held and expressed as spoken sound. All of these aspects exist within you, as well as outside of you. When you chant, you attune yourself to the aspects of the Universe held in the mantra and cultivate them within you.

Mantra is energy medicine created and delivered through your own body and its natural frequency. It literally uses your voice (and physical body) to connect to Self and Source, and it operates at all levels of being–physical, mental, energetic, emotional, and spiritual–at the same time.

What is a sound bath?

Restore your inner peace in a bath of sacred sound. You will sink into the deep relaxation of shivasana bathed in healing sound frequencies. Layered guitar, vocals, and original, ambient electronic soundscapes transport you away from the cares of the world, toward the light of your own inner peace.

Meet Karmalectric

Karmalectric is the sacred sound collaboration of husband and wife team, Rebecca Prien (Rāma Devī) and Carson Weatherby.

Rāma Devī is an attorney turned artist and spiritual teacher. She has practiced mantra (nearly) every day since she fell in love with it in 2006. Through this practice, she has cultivated has a relationship with the divine energies and sacred practice of Sanskrit mantra. Rāma Devī has studied and practiced yoga for 18 years. Since 2006, she has been a student of living masters Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati and Swami Jaya Devi Bhagavati, in the nād (sound) and bhakti (devotional) yoga lineage of Neem Karoli Baba, which has played a significant role in bringing mantra and kirtan to the United States. She has studied voice and sacred sound with kirtan artist and kundalini yoga teacher, Simrit Kaur, and Sanskrit with native practitioner of Kashmir Shaivism, Shivani Hawkins. Rāma Devī continues to be taught mystically by Ma, Baba and Swami Bhagavan Nityananda (of the Siddha Yoga lineage).

Carson is a multi-media artist, musician and yogi. He creates ambient sound baths that massage and calibrate the chakras, connect the listener with Self and Source, and stimulate overall relaxation and health. Carson began his study and practice of yoga in 1996 at The Iyengar School in Los Angeles and completed his teacher training with Stephen Urth in 2003. He studied with Dr. Bernard Gunther, teacher, author and co-founder of Esalen Institute, from 2001 until his death in 2013.
