Whitney Sullivan :: Yoga Teacher

My yoga practice began at the age of thirteen when my middle school art teacher invited my mother and I to a yoga class in her home. It was love at first practice. Since then, yoga has been a gateway to community in every place I’ve lived, particularly where language was a barrier. For me, yoga bridges the personal and communal; in my class I hope you’ll find that connection too. Come breath, move, sweat, and smile - I can’t wait to meet you!

Ellie Masson :: Yoga Teacher

Ellie (she/her) teaches yoga as a way to facilitate community and practice collective care. Ellie believes that yoga gives us the tools to build a deeper practice of self reflection and self care, so that we can engage in collective care for our communities. In Ellie’s classes, you can expect to find a space to pause, check-in, and respond to your inner experience through the body and the breath. Whether you need space to connect to your physical, spiritual, or emotional body, Ellie hopes to offer a variety of options and entry-points for you to practice in a way that feels nourishing. She is inspired to theme classes in response to the natural and social world.

Ellie’s personal practice and sharing of yoga is deeply intertwined with social justice. She understands yoga as a practice of collective liberation and is driven to keep learning, practicing, and facilitating these ancient and evolving teachings. She is humbled and grateful to live during a time where she is able to learn from many yoga and embodiment teachers who are also sharing their interpretations of yoga and social justice.

Ellie completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher training with Sangha Studio in Burlington, Vermont in June 2021 and has also completed training and courses on Yoga Nidra, the Yoga Sutras, Skill in Action, and embodied antiracism through yoga. Ankati Day :: Yoga Teacher

Meet Ankati Day:
Ankati started practicing yoga at 19, when her long distance running pursuits rendered her barely able to walk with knee injuries. The practice soon rooted deeply into her heart, transforming how she related to her body, breath, and self-confidence.

Ankati began her studies in Astanga Yoga at the only studio in her small town. She branched out into Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, AcroYoga, and has developed her own signature slow flow style that blends strength and fluidity. Her passion for teaching took her to Costa Rica, where she was certified and spent two years supporting her teachers in their trainings and providing daily classes for travelers. Now back in the Seacoast where she grew up, she is sharing a creative and unique style of yoga that fuses strength building asana with therapeutic flow and breathwork. Every class is infused with a sense of playful lightness and exploration, both of the physical and mental/emotional levels of the practice.

Suanne Ringlein :: Yoga Teacher

Suanne has pursued a life of adventure through various forms of movement, from gymnastics and sports early on to marathons and cycling in her young adult life. This natural curiosity about movement, fitness, and recovery paired with a love of philosophy eventually led her to yoga where she discovered a sanctuary unlike anything she had experienced before. Yoga was easy to fall in love with because it delivers. Every time. Now the mother of twins, yoga has been an incredible tool for navigating the physical, mental, and emotional demands of everyday life and she enjoys sharing with others what she continues to learn in her own exploration of life through mindful movement, journaling, hiking, nature, and family life. Suanne lives with her husband, Dan, somewhere between the mountains and lakes of New Hampshire and the beaches of Maine. Their friendship and conversation is among her favorite adventures. Suanne received her 200-Hour YTT from 3 Bridges Yoga in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 2019 and maintains her certification through Yoga Alliance.

Sheila Shea :: Yoga Teacher

Sheila’s yoga practice began in 1999 with a prenatal class in Seattle while pregnant with her first daughter. Though she then went on to practice for more than a decade, it was a move to India several years ago – and living and practicing there – that transformed yoga into a way of life for Sheila. In India, she lost her western lens and began to see (and feel) more fully. Back in the US, she went on to complete her 200 RYT at 3 Bridges Yoga in Portsmouth in 2019 and has been teaching at Shilo ever since.

Sheila is humbled by the practice of yoga and by those who commit themselves to it. She is passionate about expressing her true self through her yoga. She leads with her heart – offering love and support for her students. Laughter, too. Her infectious warmth and creative spirit are evident in all she does.

Sheila is originally from Massachusetts, has lived in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and now lives in Kittery with her family. She earned her BFA at the University of Denver and her master’s in intercultural relations at Lesley College. She is a gardener and avid ceramicist and currently is the assistant director of development for the College of Health and Human Services at the University of New Hampshire.
