We are a charming six acre working homestead in Eliot, conveniently located 4 miles from historic Portsmouth, NH. We offer cozy accommodations through AirBnB & stock your space with farm fresh eggs, butter, coffee/tea & milk. We live on property and are nestled in a sweet neighborhood that relishes the quietude. We love the opportunity to share our sweet homestead with you.
With 18th century charm, Shilo Farm offers comfortable accommodations with rejuvenation and convenience in mind. The feel of the home has been described as rustic elegant, with an eclectic flair. Our walls are filled with a unique collection of original art for inspiration and reflection. And there are animals everywhere. So, if you have allergies, this may not be the place for you (however, we do keep the Barn Retreat critter free).
GENERAL ACCOMMODATION DETAILS: We currently have two units available through AirBnB…
The Barn Retreat is a stand alone dwelling (within a working barn) across the driveway nestled in our late 1800’s barn. It is equipped with a small kitchenette(fridge/toaster/sink/induction single stovetop) and can accommodate 2 adults comfortably or 2 adults and 2 children. This unit is best for children over 5 due to the steep stairs. There is a child gate in place for safety.
The Farmhouse: The Farm House Suite is perfect for a couple or a family. It has a private entrance and includes a queen & twin day bed in the Master bedroom and a full bath, fully equipped farm kitchen, sunroom with a queen pull out couch and living room/library. Unfortunately, the fireplace is out of commission. But we have a pellet stove available.
PLEASE NOTE: The home is a rambling farmhouse and is attached to our residence. However, we are self contained in our own unit so you can have as much privacy as you desire. Please don't be shy in letting us know how much or how little you would like to interact with us or our furry menagerie.
PRICING: Our listed price is based on double occupancy. If you are traveling with additional friends or family, there is a $44 surcharge per guest. Children under the age of 1 are free. IN ADDITION: Please let us know if you’ll be traveling with an additional guest or having visitors. This is important to us for the privacy and safety of ourselves (as we live on-site) and other guests on property.
Enjoy the serenity of the landscape while you sip on your morning coffee or tea. We invite our guests to join us in morning animal chores of collecting eggs and feeding the goats. Our fire pit is a wonderful evening activity after a day at the beach or enjoying the sites of Portsmouth.

UNIT 1: THE BARN RETREAT
The Barn Retreat is a unique opportunity to stay in a completely renovated self contained apartment (cozy at 500 square feet) within a working barn. No detail was overlooked during the creation of this space; from the river rock path inlayed in a cork floor to a shower flanked by two cedar tree trunks harvested from the property. On the first level there is a custom built composting toilet made from western red cedar and a locally harvested cedar burl. There is a propane wood stove for those chilly nights and an air conditioner for the steamy ones. There is small refrigerator/freezer, toaster and a soapstone sink.
During your stay, you will also have access to the side yard and gardens. There is a large deck area off the back of the barn which is available when there are are no yoga classes. It is a great spot to watch the sunset, grill up some kabobs or just hang amongst the trees and read a book! We also have a Community Barn onsite where we offer daily yoga classes. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT: There is a King Sleep Number bed on the second level. Within the same room are two small loft sleeping berths with a twin mattresses. The lofts are accessed by an innovative shared pivot ladder. This unit is best suited for a family with two children or bunk style with three adults. PLEASE NOTE: The loft bunk is small and similar to a boat bunk. Not suitable for folks greater than 6 feet or 250 pounds (for comfort reasons). We also ask that children under the age of 7 not sleep in the lofts due to the ladder access.

PRICING: Our listed price of $250+/night is based on double occupancy and adjusts based in the AirBnB algorithm. If you are traveling with a child or additional friends or family, there is a $44 surcharge per adult/child, plus a cleaning fee & Maine Lodging tax.
Because we believe that sleep is one of the main pillars of health, we have invested in a Queen SLEEP NUMBER bed to ensure a restful and rejuvenating night of sleep. We use only ORGANIC linens and towels and non-toxic cleaners.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
Strict: 50% refund up until 1 week prior to arrival, except fees
Cleaning fees are always refunded if the guest did not check in.
The service fees are non-refundable.
Accommodation fees (the total nightly rate you're charged) are refundable in certain circumstances as outlined below.
A reservation is officially canceled when the guest calls and alerts staff or provides reason in in writing
Cancellation policies may be superseded by the Guest Refund Policy, extenuating circumstances, or cancellations by the hosts for any other reason permitted under the Terms of Service.
Applicable taxes will be retained and remitted.
